History of Jaipur

Jaipur is a city in India. It was made by a king named Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. He wanted a new capital, so he built Jaipur. An architect named Vidyadhar Bhattacharya helped plan the city using old Indian ideas about buildings.

They named the city Jaipur because it means “City of Victory” in honor of the king.  The buildings look special because they’re a mix of different styles from long ago.
